Welcome to Pacific!

I am an Associate Professor at Pacific University and Coordinator of the Special Education Teacher Preparation program in Eugene. My doctorate was from Portland State University in Educational Leadership Curriculum and Instruction. The focus of my scholarship and research has been on the inclusion of students with disabilities, collaboration between general and special education teachers, communication theory, reflective practice, teacher preparation, and the scholarship of teaching. I have a master of science degree in special education from Portland State University, and an undergraduate degree in speech and hearing sciences from UCSB. I teach courses related to disability studies, child development, legal aspects of special education, collaboration in schools, specially designed curriculum, and universal design for learning. I authored a chapter on journal writing and reflective practices through Stylus press, published a handbook titled The Inventory of Learning Readiness for preschool inclusion, and have written articles and presented at local and national conferences on inclusion, twice exceptional students, journal keeping, and learning disabilities.
