Greetings!
My name is Flamur. I got my AA and BS in counseling psychology and an MA in conflict resolution from Portland State University. After getting my MA, I taught psychology and sociology courses both at Rogue Community College and Southern Oregon University. For about two years, I also taught in the Middle East. I currently work as an instructor and success coach at Portland Community College. I am an avid reader and writer.

Hi Flamur,
I’m a Pacific alum from the mid-1960s. I was in education for my career and worked out of the U.S. for more than 40 years the last 29 in the U.K. I have friends from all over the world – religions, ethnicity and race. It is very disturbing to realize that nationalism has rooted itself in our democracy and I fear for the future.
I traveled around Turkey and spent some time in Konya. An Iranian friend in London is a Sufi and I had the opportunity to watch the ritual of meditation one evening as he is part of another meditation group I worked with in London. I have read Rumi.
I’m pleased that you are adding to the growing cultural diversity at Pacific. I wish you well in your studies and your future endeavors. I would think you have an amazing career ahead of you.
I did spend time in Croatia and Serbia in the 70s when it was the old Yugoslavia. I’d hoped to travel to Bosnia before retirement in 2015 but just ran out of time. However, there are a couple of Bosnians in the London group and hearing their stories, similar to what you experienced in Kosovo, makes me realize how fortunate so many of us are in this world.
I will be purchasing a copy of your latest book of poems and your book of quotations.
