Introductory Video: An Overview of Foundations Teaching Concepts
Objective:
In this module, students will learn the pedagogical and teaching principles needed for teaching three foundational concepts of string playing: stance, instrument hold, and bow hold.
Student Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge, understandings, and skills related to the pedagogical and teaching principles of three foundational concepts of string playing: stance, instrument hold, and bow hold
- Apply learned knowledge, understandings, and skills to their own teaching and playing
- Evaluate and synthesize gained knowledge on teaching stance, instrument hold, and bow hold into a comprehensive and coherent entity of knowledge that is supportive and responsive to teaching string students at various levels of development and in various learning settings
