Introductory Video: An Overview of Seven String Pedagogy Approaches Applicable to Teaching Beginning/Intermediate String Students
Objective:
In this module, students will learn the pedagogical and teaching principles of seven string pedagogy approaches/methods that are applicable to teaching beginning and intermediate string students in group settings and private lessons: Samuel Applebaum, George Bornoff, Kató Havas, Louis Kievman, Paul Rolland, Egon and Kurt Sassmannshaus, and Shinichi Suzuki.
Student Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this module students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge, understandings, and skills related to the pedagogical and teaching principles of seven string pedagogy approaches/methods applicable to teaching beginning and intermediate string students
- Apply learned knowledge, understandings, and skills to their own teaching and playing
- Evaluate and synthesize gained knowledge on seven string and pedagogy approaches/methods into a comprehensive and coherent entity of knowledge that is supportive of teaching string students at various levels of development and in various learning settings
